SSC GD Eligibility Criteria Explained

Candidates who want to appear for the SSC General Duty Constable Examination must confirm their eligibility as per the official notification. Applicants must satisfy all of the commission’s qualifying requirements to be eligible for the Staff Selection Commission’s GD Constable Examination 2022. Academic Qualification

Before applying for the GD position, applicants must have the minimum educational qualification, which is Matric (Matriculation) or 10th class pass from a recognised Board/University. Kindly note that the ones who are currently appearing for the matriculation exam are not eligible.

Age Limit

The following is the age limit for candidates of OBC/UR/SC/ST/Others who want to apply for the test. Make sure you provide the exact date of birth (D.O.B) and name as per your Class 10th/Matric passing certificate or marksheet. The applicant’s age at the time of registration must be between 18 and 23 years.

The applicant must fulfil any one of the below-given parameters:

  • A Citizen of India
  • A Citizen of Nepal or
  • A Citizen of Bhutan or
  • Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 to be settled permanently in India or
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India

Physical Standard Requirements

SSC has announced a set of physical standard requirements for the appointment as a GD Constable. For both male and female Constable applicants, physical standards include height, weight, chest expansion (only for male applicants), and vision.

The minimum weight requirement is on the corresponding candidate’s height and the commission requires the applicants to have a healthy height to weight ratio.
